SAM-V40-C is an indigenous, Group-3 class unmanned aircraft system, designed and built in India for defence. It takes off and lands vertically from small, unprepared sites, then cruises on its wing for long-endurance intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) missions. It is engineered for high-altitude operations in the Himalayas, with navigation and datalinks designed to keep working when GNSS is jammed and communications are contested. Modular payloads cover electro-optical and thermal surveillance, mapping and survey, and electronic and signals intelligence, and the aircraft assembles without tools for transport in a pickup truck.
